Comprehensive support for every stage of the sickle cell journey
Enabling individuals with sickle cell anemia to live their lives to the fullest extent not compromised by their disease and its side effects is the most important goal of our organization. We increase knowledge about sickle cell disease to the people in the 12 parishes we serve. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality resources to our community in a safe and secure environment.
Knowledge is power in the fight against sickle cell disease. Our education program reaches thousands of students, families, and healthcare providers each year, raising awareness about genetic inheritance, trait detection, and the importance of early screening.
With our organization's mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. We take education very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact.
We believe that no warrior should face barriers to basic necessities. Our community support program provides direct, tangible assistance to individuals and families in crisis, ensuring that medication, housing, and food security never stand in the way of health and dignity.
From emergency housing assistance to food security programs, from genetic counseling to community outreach, we meet people where they are and walk alongside them every step of the way.
